I'm Still Here!

Hello, Internets! I've missed you! I've been absent from the blog world for a while: we've had a couple of birthdays, a trip to Tennessee to visit family, and I've been working like a madwoman getting ready for school. But I'm still here!

Now that school's beginning, I look forward to a more structured routine. I'll be around on a limited basis posting and visiting. I'm going to experiment with a new way of weekly reporting, so come back to see that if you're interested. Meanwhile, check out the fruits of all my hard work last night getting ready for today - our first day... (Notice there are no pics of M's desk - we moved it up to her room and she was still asleep when I took the pictures. I'll add it later, maybe.)

nice work Jen! The boys and their desks all in their own little office. How neat. I can't wait to see the fruit of your planning!

Color coded schedule is great! I am planning on color coding the kids binders and accessories (where I can). Are your desks all in one room or each in their bedroom? I only have a kitchenette and am not sure what I'll be doing to give them their own work space as they get older...

Theme verses are a good idea too - did they get to choose it themselves? Good work with your planning! Hope you get into a good groove right away!

Hey- I finally did the 6 Random facts thing on my blog. Thanks for tagging me! Sorry it took me so long to do it!
Thanks for all your thoughts and well-wishes! We've had a pretty good week so far.

Mom24 - We are blessed to have a finished basement and the boys' desks are down there. My daughter's desk is in her room and often one of the boys moves to the kitchen table, that way everyone has a quiet place to work alone.

That schedule looks mighty familiar. It's been awhile since we've been that organized but maybe we need to get back to it.
Looks like you're off to a great start.

love the way it looks! And I love the theme verse idea - how great is that! Do you use those for memory work, character work, how did you go about selecting them? I love the idea! Looks like you are ready to go - I am still holding out for another week, trying to get myself ready and plan history!
About the theme verses: I'm hoping they commit them to memory just by seeing them everyday, but it's pretty relaxed other than that.

S chose his own, because it is his favorite Bible verse. I chose the ones for C and M - verses I thought summarized something they need to hear. ;-)

The Armor of God passage is what we're memorizing as a group this fall. A (4) really likes to dress up, so I thought he'd like a clip-art picture of the whole armor at his desk.
